| Cirrus Standardized Instructor Program (CSIP) | ||||||||||||||||||
|
For those who qualify, a CIRRUS Standardized Instructor is an experienced Certified Flight Instructor who is recognized by Cirrus Design Corporation as an individual who is already qualified as an FAA Certified flight instructor with an instrument rating, who has been given the training tools and teaching techniques to assist them when teaching in a technologically advanced CIRRUS aircraft. The Standardization Instructor Program emphasizes the primary differences of a technologically advanced aircraft (TAA) and the teaching techniques involved in instructing in CIRRUS aircraft. Upon arrival, the applicant will be tested on his/her knowledge of the CIRRUS Aircraft. The applicant will then be evaluated on his/her flight proficiency and teaching ability while learning how to conduct scenario-based training (SBT). Individuals who are not highly proficient in the operation of CIRRUS aircraft and the GNS 430 should not attempt the standardization program until he/she has gained the experience and knowledge needed to pass the course. It is recommended that CFI’s have some experience in a CIRRUS aircraft prior to attempting the standardization program. This is a pass-fail course. Instructors who do not come prepared and/or do not possess the instructional knowledge, flight proficiency and/or able to demonstrate the ability, to teach in a CIRRUS aircraft, will incur the expense of the course, but may not pass. For
CFI’s that are not proficient in the operation of CIRRUS
aircraft or do not have the experience with a TAA and the GNS
430, UND Aersospace Foundation (UNDAF) and Cirrus Design offer
a transition program that enables instructors and customers to
become more experienced and safer Cirrus pilots. This may be
conducted prior to conducting the CIRRUS CFI Standardization
Program. |
